Diplo — Saturday, Encore Beach Club
Saturday 17 October, 11:00 AM, Encore Beach Club at Wynn Las Vegas. Event page
Diplo is Thomas Wesley Pentz. He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, grew up mostly in Miami, and made his name as a DJ and producer in Philadelphia. Long before Major Lazer, Jack Ü and Silk City, his first album, Florida (2004), was a sample-heavy instrumental hip-hop and trip-hop record. He says he made it between a small apartment in Philadelphia and his mother's house in Florida. "Into The Sun," sung by Martina Topley-Bird, is one of its few vocal tracks, and it's on Episode 11, which came out Friday. Put it on before you head to the pool. More on Diplo.
